Description
Ketonor+ boluses to aid ketosis treatment & prevention in dairy cows
Dietetic complementary feed. Bolus to reduce the risk of ketosis.
Two Ketonor+ boluses given to ‘at risk’ fresh cows provides a readily available energy source right when it is needed. This breaks the cycle of ketone production, aids restoring dry matter intake, and supports milk production and resumption of ovarian cyclicity after calving.
Cows ‘at risk’ of ketosis include:
- Over-conditioned/fat cows
- Cows carrying twins
- Older cows
- Lame cows
The formulation also contains Vitamins A and E, selenium, niacin, cobalt and yeast to support the liver, rumen and immune system.
Although ketosis is usually seen in the first 4-6 weeks of, it can occur any time that the cow experiences negative energy balance. Ketonor+ can be used as a supportive therapy in sick or convalescent cows alongside non-steroidal pain relief and antibiotics where deemed appropriate. Ensure adequate fluid therapy in cows with clinical ketosis or negative energy balance.
Ketonor+ does not contain antimicrobials, has no withdrawal period and is easy to administer.
Seek veterinary assistance if a cow does respond as expected to treatment.
